Costs associated with buying a property
It’s important to consider extra costs on top of the property price to properly plan your budget.
1. Property Transfer Tax (ITP)
From June 27, 2025, the tax is applied progressively based on value:
- Up to €600,000: 10%
- €600,001 to €900,000: 11%
- €900,001 to €1,500,000: 12%
- Over €1,500,001: 13%
These percentages are applied progressively, not to the total value of the property.
In special cases, such as the purchase of new-build property, taxes may vary, but Costa Brava Fincas will keep you informed at all times.
2. Other costs
Notary fees and land registry costs amount to approximately 1.5% of the property’s value.
